Dr. Joanne Turner and her Team Received a Prominent Program Project grant (P01) to Study the Impact of Inflammaging on Immune Function During M. tb Infection


The Ohio State University has received a large National Institute of Aging Program Project grant (P01) led by Dr. Joanne Turner entitled "Exploring the impact of inflammaging on immune function during M. tb infection (2016-2021). This P01 will explore the impact of inflammation on susceptibility of the elderly to develop tuberculosis. The award totals almost $8,000,000 over 5 years. Other lead investigators on the P01 are Drs. Jordi Torrelles, Larry Schlesinger, William Lafuse, Murugesan Rajaram, Shu-Hua Wang, Christopher Walker, Robert Merritt, Daren Knoell, and Jeff Pan.
